  2. ¿ QUE ES? • es una escuela inglesa fundada en 1921 por Alexander Sutherland Neill. Es una de las pioneras dentro del movimiento de las Escuelas democráticas. Atiende a niños de educación primaria y secundaria. Actualmente la directora es la hija de A.S. Neill, ZoëNeillReadhead.

  3. Una escuela democrática se caracteriza por dos principios básicos: la posibilidad de que los alumnos escojan si quieren asistir a clase y la dinámica de las asambleas, donde todos participan, para decidir las normas de la escuela.

IDEALES. • Neill establece que la principal meta de una escuela debe ser auxiliar a sus alumnos para que estos sean capaces de encontrar la felicidad propia y es por eso que propone un modelo muy diferente al de las escuelas tradicionales, que según él sólo consiguen promover una atmósfera de miedo.
