The Hammerhead Shark is grayish brown. This cool creature has wide, thick eyes on the side of its head. The hammerhead is 11.5 feet long. Its weight is 500 pounds. The triangular teeth have serrated edges. The head is indented at center of the hammer . The dorsal fin is very large and pointed.
They eat fish, rays, other sharks, squid, and octopuses . They swim in warm water along the coastlines all over the world. They swim 260 feet down. They live above and under land shelves and drop-offs. It is a fierce predator its good sense of smell helps it find prey. It will eat its pups. Pups are about 27 inches long at birth.
