  2. Welcome…. Printmaking Students! Throughout this 1 semester course (.5 credit), we will engage in the study of the following concepts: • Monoprints • Relief Printmaking • Linoleum Block • Collagraph • Batik Techniques • Color Mixing/ Color Theory • Drawing (Perspective) • Principles of Design • Symbolism/Metaphor • Art History/Contemporary Art Studies • Reflective Writing & Discussion • Please be prepared to write about and discuss art concepts.

  5. Relief printmaking • Simply means creating a relief (a surface that is set out from the background, in order to print the raised surface) For example; woodcut, linoleum block and collagraph.

  9. Collagraph to create architectural elements We will be creating a final collagraph project, using textured areas to create a “corner of a room” image. The class will learn the basics of drawing one and two point perspective , in order to enhance the project outcome.

  10. Batik Techniques • Wax/Resist & Dye or Paint on Fabric.

  12. Review • What is drawing in 1 & 2 point perspective? • How will we use the Principles of Design? • How will we use color theories? • What about symbolism?
