Patient Id Change/Merge When do I merge and when do I change Patient Id’s
PCCK – Patient ID Change Use PCCK when you have 1 patient ID and it needs to be changed.
Here is an example Patient had a psuedo number – ABC070411 Now they have a real social 411223333
Before you do the PCCK Make sure that the new number does not already exist on the Portal. You can do this by doing a patient search on Portal.
But what if the new number was found? If the new number does exist, then you will want to do the MPAT function
MPAT – Patient ID Merge Use MPAT when you have 1 patient that exist in the system with more than 1 ID.
Here is an example Patient exist with a psuedo number ABC070411 And they also exist with a social 411223333
Before you do the MPAT Make sure that both numbers do exist on the Portal. You can find out by doing a Patient Search on the Portal.
After doing the MPAT Both patient records will still exist. You need to go to the old id and change the record status to INACTIVE.
When you do a merge DO NOT merge a social back to the psuedo and then change the psuedo to a social.
