Origins of the Brief Guide • Since 1 April 1993 (corporate status) • More recently………… • Recognition by Learning and Skills Improvement Service re need to support • Student Governors (2 - 3) • Staff Governors (1 - 3)
The process for the formation of the Brief Guide in 2009 included two sessions with Staff Governors And a session of trade union representatives, governors, clerks and a Staff Governor And the Brief Guide was tested by Staff Governors and Clerks to the Corporation
The Brief Guide Good Governance : ALL members of the governing body WORKING TOGETHER for the BEST INTERESTS of the college Rich mix - ‘external’ and ‘internal’ governors
