Einstein’s Three Great Discoveries • He explained how the motion of atoms could be seen. • He proved that light, which was not well understood, could be understood as being little “bullets” of light. • He discovered the theory of relativity, in which moving clocks ticked more slowly than stationary ones, and in which things moving quickly were skinnier than slow things. • This discovery showed that space and time were really the same thing . . . something that even today seems pretty weird.
