  1. Accident sequence Kp. 16 (Chocoriari) August 1st 2003 1. • Pick up truck on the top of the slope. • Pipe carrier taking 32” pipes beginning the ascent Chocoriari Slope length: 200 m. Approx Inclination: 25° approx.

  2. Pipe carrier stops its ascent and goes back to the bottom where it stops to allow the pick up to pass through.. • Pick up begins the descent 2.

  3. When the pick up was descending, a challenger appears on the top of the hill. 3.

  4. Challenger begins the descent rapidly and uncontrolled, quickly catches the pick up from behind. 4.

  5. 5. • Challenger reaches the pick up, impacts it, driving both towards the pipe carrier which is stationary at the bottom.

  6. 6. • Pick up is caught between the pipe carrier and challenger with great force.
