  2. “Obedience” Matthew 7:21 “Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.” Hebrews 5:8 “…though He was a Son, yet He learned obedience by the things which He suffered. 9 And having been perfected, He became the author of eternal salvationto all who obey Him”

  3. Desire to go to Heaven… Fear of going to Hell Romans 2:5-10 1Corinthians 9:24-27 Hebrews 10:26-39 Revelation 22:12-15

  4. Respect for Authority Psalm 103:19 “The Lord has established His throne in heaven, And His kingdom rules over all.” Matthew 28:18-20 Luke 6:46 “But why do you call Me 'Lord, Lord,' and do not do the things which I say?” Luke 8:21 “…My mother and My brothers are these who hear the word of God and do it.”

  5. Respect for Authority 1 Thessalonians 4:1-3 2 Thessalonians 3:6, 12 2 Samuel 15:15 “And the king's servants said to the king, "We are your servants, ready to do whatever my lord the king commands.”

Love for the Lord 2 Corinthians 5:14-15 Galatians 2:20 “I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.” 1 John 4:19 “We love Him because He first loved us.”

  7. Love for the Lord John 14:15 “If you love Me, keep My commandments.” John 14:21 “He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.” Hebrews 6:10 “For God is not unjust to forget your work and labor of love which you have shown toward His name, in that you have ministered to the saints, and do minister.”

If anyone among you seems to be wise in this age, let him become a fool that he may become wise.”

Humility Philippians 2:12 “Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling;13 for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.” 1 Thessalonians 2:13 “For this reason we also thank God without ceasing, because when you received the word of God which you heard from us, you welcomed it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which also effectively works in you who believe.”

  10. IF I Believe… That Jesus will reward those who obey Him with a home in heaven, then that’s exactly what I’ll do. That Jesus has been given all authority, then I will respect that authority by obeying Him. That Jesus gave His life for me on the cross, then I will gladly obey His every command. That God is… and that He is the God described in the Bible, then I will humbly submit to Him, because He knows what is best for me!
