Floating Eggs How do you make things float easier? I will be trying to make eggs float.
Background Research https://explorable.com/salt-water-egg-experiment http://www.stevespanglerscience.com/lab/experiments/floating-egg/ http://www.scientificamerican.com/article/salty-science-floating-eggs-in-water/
Hypothesis Based on background research, I think the eggs will float by adding 5-10 tablespoons of salt into a glass of water.
Procedure First, I will fill up two cups with tap water. Then I will add salt to one of the cups. I will then stir the water for about 30 seconds. I will put an egg into each cup and see which egg float.
Materials Eggs Cups of Water Salt Spoon
Results The egg in the salt water did end up floating, unlike the other egg in normal tap water did not float.
Conclusion In conclusion, my hypothesis was right. The egg did float in the water. I learned that things float much easier in salt water.
