Dear CA members, I invite you to renew your ‘yes’ and I entrust you with threeassignments: • Contemplation • Communion • Mission
Contemplation “Commit yourselves to walk along the way towards sanctity, keeping your gaze fixed on Christ, the only Teacher and Saviour of us all.” The three assignments: John Paul II ‘s legacy to Catholic Action
Catholic Action, in Christ, contemplates... • The mystery of the Church. • The mystery of man. • Life’s realities to discover therein the signs of the time. • Every living situation to assess its strenghts and weaknesses. • Every brother and sister especially those most in need. The three assignments: John Paul II’s legacy to Catholic Action
Communion “Try to promote spiritual unity with the Church’s Pastors, with all your brothers in faith and with all the other ecclesial associations. Be the leaven of dialogue with all men of good will.” The three assignments: John Paul II”s legacy to Catholic Action
Humbly promoting... • A space for every brother, helping him to carry his burden. • The ability to listen to all brethren, thus getting to know their joys, sorrows and desires so as to be able to help them in their needs and to establish with them a true and deep friendship. The three assignments: John Paul II”s legacy to Catholic Action
Humbly Promoting... • The ability to see the positive in others. • The discovery of ways of communicating. • The possibility of creating “mutual” trust. • An attiude of attentive listening. The three assignments: John Paul II”s legacy to Catholic Action
Communion • Based on our union with God the Father through Jesus Christ in the Holy Spirit. • Which we strenghten by reflecting on the Word of God and by participating in the Sacraments. • Which is expressed in the beauty of diversity. The three assignments: John Paul II”s legacy to Catholic Action
Mission “As lay people, carry with you the leaven of the Gospel in your homes, in schools, in your places of work and leisure. The Gospel is the word of hope and salvation for the world.” The three assignments: John Paul II”s legacy to Catholic Action
Because of this... • The reason for our existence is EVANGELIZATION. • It determines the type of service we give, our way of life and the way we organize ourselves. • It induces us to involve ourselves in all areas of evangelization. • It leads us to live for the Church and for its entire mission. The three assignments: John Paul II’s legacy to Catholic Action
For this reason we have... • Chosen to serve our particular Church and its mission. • Made our parish the place where everyday we live our faithful and fervent commitment. • Endeavour, as lay people, to deepen our fervour to announce the Gospel in all the spheres of life we find ourselves in by carrying out our mission The three assignments: John Paul II’s legacy to Catholic Action
Our Mission.... • Matures when we follow an on-going christian formation programme. • When we feel corresponsible in the building of the Church of Christ. • When, in our words and deeds, we give witness and announce the Person of Christ and promote each person’s human dignity. “May our sweet Lady of Loreto help you to be faithful to your vocation, to be generous in carrying out your daily duties and to be enthusiastic in your dedication to the mission which the Church has entrusted to you.”
