Perforated Metal on The Block Sky High We are seeing perforated metal being used anywhere and everywhere. Kitchens, building facades, airports – you name it. And we are even seeing the metal being taken advantage of by contestants on home renovation programs, such as The Block Sky High. With a broad array of benefits such as durability, strength and numerous options for its use, perforated metal is becoming a more and more common choice of material for renovators, architects and builders. Last week on The Block, we saw Kim and Matt include a perforated metal feature in their ensuite which caught the judges’ (and our) attention. However, we feel we have the right to critique the team’s use of perforated metal a little seeing we have been a part of this industry for over 20 years! Perforated metal can be transformed into artwork itself and it can often be used as a standalone feature, rather than being coupled with another statement piece. When intricate and detailed patterns are punctured into the metal, it makes for a very striking creation (as you can see in the image below) without the need for other eye catching pieces within the same area.
As well as the above Perforated Metal wall feature, Kim and Matt used quite attentiongrabbing tiles which, in our opinion, slightly detracted from the metal feature and didn’t enable it to be fully appreciated. We are passionate about working closely with our clientele to achieve their visions for their perforated metal projects. We love to the see the smiles on their faces when they see the finished product and can appreciate both the design and practical elements.
