Overall Summary of Troops to Energy Jobs Initiative • Troops to Energy Jobs Initiative began in July 2011 and will be complete in Early Spring 2013 • Six pilot companies - AEP, APS, PG&E, Dominion, and Southern, and National Grid • Lessons Learned from Pilot serves as the foundation for the National Template • Roll-out National Template in early January 2013 • Work with Pilot Companies, Sponsors, and CEWD members to scale National Template
Overview of Troops Initiative Objectives of Troops Initiative: • Help Companies share best practices and learn from each other • Build relationships with key connection points in military, other government agencies, and pipeline organizations that provide support Veterans • Create a National Template that provides a blueprint for utilities companies to create a strategic plan and implement strategies to build a pipeline and retain a military workforce
Overview of National Template The National Template consists of the following major sections: • Business Case for Hiring Veterans • Assessment of Current Practices and Policies • Strategic Planning • Implementing Strategic Plan • Tracking and Measuring Progress
