The Importance Of Nutrition And Hydration For Health

We all know that nutrition is important for our bodies. Eating junk food does us no good, and is linked to obesity, depression, digestive issues, heart disease and stroke, type 2 diabetes, cancer, and early death. It can also lead to loss of memory and learning problems, and inadequate growth and development of children.

  1. The Importance Of Nutrition And Hydration For Health We all know that nutrition is important for our bodies. Eating junk food does us no good, and is linked to obesity, depression, digestive issues, heart disease and stroke, type 2 diabetes, cancer, and early death. It can also lead to loss of memory and learning problems, and inadequate growth and development of children. Equally, eating the right foods and drinking alcohol in moderation also improve our overall health, and this is why we now have Nutrition and Hydration Week each year, in 2021 taking place from June 14th to June 20th. The week was created ten years ago by Caroline Lecko, a nurse, as an education event to promote good nutrition and hydration in the NHS. At the same time Andy Jones and Derek Johnson, who were both caterers, were starting to work on a joint focus day to bring social care and hospital caterers together to have a stronger voice to promote catering in those sectors through their professional associations. They all knew each other from meeting at various conferences and decided to join forces and thus Nutrition and Hydration Week was born. It involves various activities which are centred on an Afternoon Tea Party on the Wednesday of the week, and the events are now sponsored by Nestle, Tetley, Laughing Cow, McVitie’s, among others. What has all this to do with acupuncture, you might ask? Well, it seems that people who have good nutritional habits get better results from acupuncture than those who eat junk food. Extensive research conducted worldwide has shown that acupuncture may significantly improve symptoms of stress. How

  2. often should you get acupuncture for stress? Well, the answer to this question depends on your personal goals and how long you’ve been dealing with a particular condition, you can expect to feel a little better with each treatment.
