2. European Allies C. 1779-Spain also agreed to help 1. Spanish governor of Louisiana, DeGalvez captured Natchez and established Baton Rouge 2. Mobile and Pensacola were established as cities the Brits could not control 3. British exhausted many men fighting Spanish instead of the colonists 4. Spain had an ulterior motive, land for themselves

10. War at Sea • Britain had a huge navy… hard to beat • America had only Privateers • British merchants were now calling for an end to the war because they were losing ships & cargo
