What is Edmodo? • Edmodo is a website that further connects teacher, student, and parents. • Teachers can use Edmodo to post assignments, create quizzes, polls, homework, or even create posts about topics covered in class. • Students AND parents have access to these posts. All you have to do is enter the group code!

  3. How do I start? • Go to Edmodo.com • Click “I’m a Student”

  4. Signing-Up! • Student will enter the appropriate group code for his/her class. • Create a username that will be remembered for instance “allyson_kelly”. If taken, add a number to it! • Enter an email if you want to receive alerts whenever something is posted! • Enter first and last name • Then agree to the Terms of Service

  5. Type a note here—you can also attach files to your note and send them to your teacher or classmates. Once You’re In… • Your page will look like this Search for previous posts here.

  6. To Access Your Class’ Page Click on the appropriate class under “Groups”.

  7. Accessing Folders • Ms. Kelly will keep all work organized in folders. • Every unit we cover in class will have a folder. Here you would find your different folders. Click there!

  8. Parent Code • On the students main page on Edmodo, you will access the parent code. • This code can be used for parents to create an Edmodo account to see what’s going on in class.

  9. Other Great Things… • Edmodo has a planner capability which students can use to help stay organized. • Students get fast feedback on assessments given on Edmodo. • Alerts can be sent when something is posted on Edmodo to your email, or by text. • If a student forgets what his/her homework assignment is it will be posted on Edmodo.

  10. In conclusion, • Edmodo is another great resource to foster communication between teacher, student, and parent. • After using Edmodo last year I know how beneficial the site can be. • My expectation is that behavior on Edmodo is on par with that in the classroom—meaning do not post anything inappropriate. • IF that happens, restrictions will be implemented.
