  1. [11-2D] Quadrilaterals Learning Objective Students will classify quadrilaterals and find missing angle measure in quadrilaterals. CW/HW: P2357: Textbook p. 627, #6-23 P4: Skills Practice

  2. 1. 6. 2. 3. 4. 5. The quadrilateral family tree: 1. A quadrilateral is a closed figure with four sides and four angles.

  3. 2. A parallelogram is a quadrilateral with two pairs of parallel sides. 3. A rectangle is a quadrilateral with four right angles.

  4. 4. A rhombus is a quadrilateral with 4 congruent sides. 5. A square is a quadrilateral with 4 right angles and 4 congruent sides.

  5. 1 + 2 + 3 + 4 = 360° 1 2 6. A trapezoid is a quadrilateral with 1 pair of parallel sides. 4 3 The sum of the angles in any quadrilateral is always 360°.

  6. 45° 55° 50° 118° x° 100° 80° y° Find the missing angles.

  7. (x+25)° Find the missing angles. (x+10)° (2x-15)°

  8. 37° 42° y° y+30° x° 150° y+10° y+20° »Find the missing angles. Think-Pair-Share

  9. Review – Short Write • Compare and contrast triangles and quadrilaterals. Angle sum for a triangle is 180 while it is 360 for a quadrilateral.

  10. Student Self Assessment • Raise hand 1-5 based on how well you understand the material. • Did not understand at all • Did not get it but could with a little more help • Sort of get, need more practice • Understand, need more practice • Fully understand and ready for quiz
