Common issues • There are several reasons why an education student’s web portfolio may not work, the most common are: • Forgot to save changes • Image size too big • Forgot to set the target on links to “blank”
Defining the site • Click ‘Site’ on the menu option and then click ‘New Site’. • Click the ‘Advanced’ tab in the Site Definition window • You will see this screen if you did everything correctly:
IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT DEFINING THE SITE… • The local root folder should be set to the student’s flash drive, and the folder selected should be their portfolio folder. • Example: G:\Bobby_Efolio • Do not select any of the individual folders within the E-folio section; just hit the ‘Select’ button.
Setting the remote server information • Click ‘Remote Info’ in the Site Definition window, located on the left side. • Select ‘FTP’ in the Access field • Four fields will need to be filled out: • FTP Host: portfolio.baylor.edu • Host Directory: capital letter of your first name/Bear ID Ex: B/Bobby_Labbie • Login: Baylor/Bear_ID Ex: Baylor\Bobby_Labbie • Password: Baylor email password • Finally hit the ‘Test’ Button, located next to the login field. • Once you have filled out all of your information correctly, click the ‘OK’ button.
Editing and saving information • To save any changes made to the webpage, click either the ‘Put’ or ‘Synchronize’ button, after the changes have been made. PUT SYNCHRONIZE • (Remember, this will overwrite the previous version of the page.)
