  2. ABOUT US INSPIRING SUSTAINABILITY & CONSERVATION SINCE 1961 WWF, founded in 1961 in Switzerland, is one of the world’s most recognisable and respected independent conservation organisations. In 1961, a broad call for support was signed by 16 of the world’s leading conservationists. This signed manifesto stated that while the expertise to protect the world environment existed, the financial support to achieve this protection did not. From this, the decision was made to establish the World Wild Fund as an international fundraising organisation. Since establishment, the World Wide Fund for Nature has expanded and is internationally renowned. Over the years, we have become leaders in establishing and becoming involved with many sustainability drives and initiatives. One of the fundraising initiatives we initiated is our online shop.
