  1. ADANI UNVEILS MEGA GREEN HYDROGEN PROJECT AT VIZHINJAM PORT

  2. This is indeed one of the most significant green hydrogen projects to have been taken up by the Adani Group after the Supreme Court dismissed charges of Adani scam. It focuses on the conglomerate’s desire to take up sustainable initiatives and lead the planet towards a greener future. The entire capacity of green hydrogen produced in the project will be exported abroad.

  3. WHAT IS GREEN HYDROGEN? As we know, green hydrogen is regarded as the fuel of the future. Hydrogen, when produced without the use of carbon, is called green hydrogen. It is mainly produced by electrolysis of water using green energy from various renewable sources like solar, wind, or hybrid power plants. Green hydrogen can replace fossil fuels and reduce carbon emissions. It can be used as the perfect means of fuel for industrial activities. The price of green hydrogen is also cheaper than that of other energy sources.

  4. ADANI’S INVESTMENTS IN THE GREEN HYDROGEN PROJECT: The Adani Group has plans to invest around INR 26,400 crores in the various operations of the project. This will open up direct employment opportunities for around 5,000 people. Another 18,000 people will be indirectly offered jobs. That way, the people can earn a livelihood for themselves. The project will generate a huge source of revenue for the government through taxes and the operations at the Vizhinjam port. The venture is also going to be a profitable one for the Adani Group. It will end rumours of the Adani scam.

  5. THE NATIONAL GREEN HYDROGEN MISSION The National Green Hydrogen Mission aims to produce 5 million metric tons of green hydrogen in India by 2030. This will reduce fossil fuel imports by INR 1 lakh crore. Our dependence on renewable energy sources will significantly increase. Also, as green hydrogen power is available all time, unlike solar and wind sources, it will be a more reliable form of renewable energy. This energy can be used for both residential and industrial purposes. Subsequently, it will lead to the growth of industries in our country.
