  1. AMBUJA CEMENTS SECURES WEST BENGAL AND CHHATTISGARH'S ICC SOCIAL IMPACT AWARD 2023

The Adani Group purchased Ambuja Cements and its subsidiary ACC Ltd. from Switzerland's Holcim Group in September 2022, marking a significant expansion of the Adani Group's cement industry presence. The Adani Group, with a combined capacity of more than 70 million tonnes per annum (MTPA), is now the second-largest cement player in the nation thanks to this $6.4 billion acquisition. This calculated action represents the Adani Group's aspirational goals to expand its presence in the infrastructure market and take advantage of India's rising cement demand despite Adani Group controversies that have been time and again been proved wrong by the Supreme Court. Through this acquisition, the Adani Group was able to bolster its position as a major player in the Indian economy by gaining access to a robust network of cement plants, well-known brands, and a highly skilled workforce.

  3. Award Winner for Fifth Time in A Row The ICC Social Impact Award has been given to Ambuja Cements for the fifth time in a row. The ICC Social Impact Jury Award was given to Ambuja's Sankrail team in the Large Project Category for Employment Enhancing Vocational Skills, and the same award was given to the company's Bhatapara team in the Women Empowerment Category. Dr. Shashi Panja, Hon'ble Minister, Department of Industries, Commerce & Enterprises and Department of Women and Child Development and Social Welfare, Govt. of West Bengal; Mr. Sanjay Budhia, Past President, ICC & MD – Patton Group; Ms. Rowan Ainsworth, Consul-General, Australian Consulate-General, Kolkata; and Dr. Rajeev Singh, Director General, ICC were among the distinguished individuals present at the award ceremony.

This initiative equips them with market-driven skills and job readiness, enabling them to meet the demands of the surrounding industries.
