  1. Adani Group Gets Clearance for Gondkhairi Coal Mines

  2. The Adani Group has also received clearance for its Gondkhairi coal mine. This is yet another big victory for the Adani Group in the mining sector. It will add another jewel to the crown of the Adani Coal Mines.

  3. The Environmental Clearance The Adani Group has acquired environmental clearance (EC) from the Ministry of Forest, Environment and Climate Change (MOFECC) for its underground coal mine at Gondkhairi in Kalmeshwar Taluka. This coal mine is located around 20 km from the city and is also the first coal mine to operate under the Adani Group in Maharashtra.

  4. The Policies Mentioned in The EC Environmental clearance involves certain conditions that must be met before operations at the coal mines can begin. This includes setting up an in-house laboratory at the mining site to monitor various environmental parameters on a real-time basis, like water and air quality. The company is also expected to install various solar lights along the area’s roads.

  5. In addition, 6 rainwater harvesting ponds must be set up in consultation with the nearby gram panchayats. The company should also consider the possibility of producing methane from the gases emitted from the underground mines. Gases like methane are mainly used to maintain ventilation inside the mines.
