A Short History of PPSK • Plan initiated in early 1980’s; several committees formed over the years • Final Committee: 1997 headed by Prof Syed Mohsin • Approval of Senate: 136th Meeting, 3 October 1998. • Approval of USM’s Board: 17 September 1998 • Approval of Ministry of Eduacation: January 1999 • Official establishment: 1 November 1999
PPSK • 2nd Health Science faculty in Malaysia; 1st is FSKB in UKM • 2003: Kulliyah Sains Kesihatan established in UIA • 2004: Health Science faculty UiTM • In other IPTA: various programs offered under Medical faculties (e.g UPM, UNIMAS)
