  3. American Psychological Association – APA Overview The APA is used for reports or papers. The mission is the creation , communication, and application of the psychological knowledge. One of the features of style is a "running head“, which is an abbreviation of the title followed by the page number. 

  4. APA Publication Style and Format The American Psychological Association (APA) provides a standard and guidelines for writing style and format for writing and publishing written works. According to APA standards, there is a need to format writings, including headers, footers, punctuation, citations, tables and references and other components of a manuscript.

  5. APA Publication Style and Format • APA style is an editorial style commonly used in the areas of education, psychology and research. The APA style was originally developed in 1929, to assist reading comprehension of people in these fields when they were reading scientific and professional reports. • The overall impact of APA style lends a simple and consistent format, making it possible to focus on the content of the subject matter.
