What writers have said about change… If you think you're always in control, then you're not going fast enough. – Andretti, quoted by Wittenborg in "Rocking the Boat“It isn't the changes that do you in, it's the transitions…. Change is situational; the new site, the new boss, the new team roles, the new policy. Transition is the psychological process people go through to come to terms with the new situation. Change is external, transition is internal.– quoted by Ferguson in "Whose Vision? Whose Values?”
Changing something implies not just learning something new but unlearning something that is already there and possibly in the way. What most learning theories and models overlook are the dynamics of unlearning, of overcoming resistance to change. – Edgar ScheinIt is not the strongest of the species that survive, nor the most intelligent, but the ones most responsive to change.- Heraclitus 540-480 BCE (He also observed: Everything is in flux.)
