Objectives vs. Societal Challenge NoGAP aims at developing a “Common Knowledge and Innovation Space” on societal challenge ”secure, clean and efficient energy” • Horizon 2020 Framework Programme for Research and Innovation. The energy-related technologies can be analyzed at the level of production, transport or efficient energy use. • Renewable energy for mobility • Biomass Energy • Geothermal energy • Smart grids • Wind power energy • Solar energy • Hydro power energy • Smart cities, energy efficient building • Energy efficient manufacturing • Innovative storage technologies

Objectives NoGAP aims at promoting the cooperation of the EU with Eastern Partnership countries NoGAP addresses selected countries of the Eastern Partnership (EaP) • Georgia , Armenia, Azerbaijan • Ukraine, Moldova • Belarus
SpecificObjectives • Strengthening of the cooperation and knowledge transfer between public research and industry and identifying opportunities and bottlenecks in energy sector • Developing Innovation Support Services to foster Innovation Partnership in energy sector • Improving of competencies and mutual learning in energy • Verification and improving of the services through implementation of pilot activities • Promoting networking in order to create a bridge between research, innovation and business and also to support networking between R2I-ENP projects • Communicating and disseminating project results in order to address a wider audience
Impact andresults • Identification of challenges and options for public-private-partnerships (survey among at least 200 stakeholders) • Guides for researchers and innovators for legal and financial aspects of bringing R&D results to the market (development of a best practices methodology and at least 6 business plans) • Support of the mobility of research and innovation actors and connection (twinning, matchmaking and brokerage activities) • Information and special trainings on jointly developing innovation and bringing R&D results to the market in an international context (consultancy visits etc.)
Strategy NoGAP has an innovation support approach: strengthening the innovation chain among the participating countries in the energy sector by: • Better aligning research objectives to socio-economic needs in the energy sector • Improving performance transferring and using knowledge resulting from research • Enhancing innovation cooperation between the EU members and EaP countries.
