Characteristics • The Poison Dart Frog measures 2 cm long an weighs 2 grams • Lives in the areas around the Amazon River • Takes it’s venom from other insects it eats like ants and spiders • It reproduces by laying it’s eggs in water and then the frogs undergo a evolution to become a frog • Needs a water source to survive • Did you know? The Poison Dart Frog has enough poison to kill 10 grown men

  3. Why is it Endangered? • The population of the Poison Dart Frog decreased by a little less than 50% • It is becoming endangered because of the logging industry in Brazil • Without the trees of the Amazon the Poison Dart Frog sometimes can’t hide from it’s predators and the water is getting contaminated with the oil and bark from the trees and machines that cut down the trees • Another reason why they are dying is because of the infection of fungus from the humans in the logging industry

  4. Why should we save it? • We should save the Poison Dart Frogs because they keep a natural balance in the Amazon • They keep the levels of insects population down • If the Poison Dart Frog became extinct, the majority of the animals in the Amazon rainforest will die • What are you waiting for, save the Poison Dart Frog now!
