  3. The land use planning coordinators are the foundation for technical support for other field coordinators, as well as, for achieving the goals as they are outlined in the new CI mission. Position remarks

  4. Build strategic regional land use planning based on needs of: • Governments • Regional bodies • Field divisions • CI South America • Assist governments and partners in policy decision making • Amplify our work to the region Position tasks

  5. There are proven methodologies for Land-use planning in SA countries • There is an existing GDB from previous Andes CBC • There is the CONDOR tool • There are different levels of development and interests of LUP and GIS in our countries Background

  6. We envision effective collaboration between field division land use planning coordinators to support governments and local populations to design resilient landscapes Vision

  7. To achieve effective support and communication between network members to develop and implement proven methodologies, planning tools and data standards, and to collaborate on regional projects. Objective

  8. Evaluate existing and proven GDB designs and tools in field division offices. • Standardize geographical databases across the region. • Assess the spatial planning needs of current national and regional CI projects for supporting government planning offices at several levels. Outputs FY11
