  2. CCSM Schedule • April 1, 2010, CCSM4.0 Release • June 15, 2010, CESM1.0 Release • adds ecosystem + glc (glimmer) + ? • June 28 – July 1, CCSM Workshop, Breckenridge, CO

New Tags • CCSM4_0_RACM01 to RACM05 – prior tags • Since April 1, 2010 • CCSM4_0_RACM10 – Update RACM code to “CCSM4.0” Release Version • CCSM4_0_RACM11 – Update POP to include extended grid mods from Jaromir, Add wrf configure file for pingo • CCSM4_0_RACM12 – Update VIC from Chunmei • Testing on midnight and pingo

Notes on Current Tags • Compsets • H = datm, slnd, pop, cice • RB = wrf, vic, pop, cice • RI = datm, vic, socn, sice • RJ = wrf, dlnd, pop, cice • RK = wrf, vic, docn, dice • RL = wrf, dlnd, docn, dice • Grids • w5a_w5a (RI, RK, RL compsets) • w5a_a92 (full extended grid; RB, RJ compsets) • a91_a91 (for H compsets) • partial coupling and pop/cice wind stress reduction (ala J.He) is turned off by default.

Upcoming Work/Issues • Update WRF3.0.1 to WRF3.2 • verify physics • New POP/CICE grid • mapping files • land model mask • Coupled Tuning • initial spinup • stable simulation • “correct” simulation • Migrate to pingo • Performance Assessment, Optimization, and Load Balance • Verify exact restart and production capability

  6. CCSM WRF/Regional Grid Plans • No definite plans yet • Other communities are starting to use the RACM version to explore CCSM/WRF coupling • Need to improve WRF integration in CCSM • build/scripts • Expect to add ROMS as a supported ocean model (over the next couple years) • Nested CAM/WRF, POP/ROMS?
