Point of View. Narrator. The narrator “holds the camera.” The narrator tells the story. A writer’s choice of narrator is called point of view. There are two types of point of view. First-person point of view Third-person point of view. First-Person Point of View.

  2. Narrator • The narrator “holds the camera.” • The narrator tells the story. • A writer’s choice of narrator is called point of view.

  3. There are two types of point of view. • First-person point of view • Third-person point of view

  4. First-Person Point of View • The narrator is a character in the story. • The narrator uses the pronouns “I” and “me.” • The narrator describes his/her thoughts and feelings. • The narrator does not know the thoughts and feelings of other characters.

  5. Third-Person Point of View • The narrator is NOT a character in the story. • There are two types. • Limited omniscient – the narrator knows the thoughts and feelings of only ONE character. • Omniscient – the narrator knows the thoughts and feelings of ALL the characters.
