DJTFAC provides responsive joint staff expertise in crisis action planning DJTFAC members integrated fully within the joint task force (JTF) staff DJTFAC not intended to be separate from the JTF staff or a forward echelon of the HQ USCINCPAC/Service component staffs DJTFAC deploys in support of the HQ USCINCPAC designated JTF Deployment will normally occur after the HQ USCINCPAC activation and warning orders have been drafted and a JTF has been activated Contingency Response

USCINCPAC JTF Training Exercise: TEMPEST EXPRESS • Optimizes schoolhouse/operator linkage - Generally 5 days long - Doctrinal, procedural lessons learned briefs - JTF staff training practical CAP exercise - scenarios across contingency spectrum • More in-depth instruction • Training executed at JTF HQ home station • Target audience: JTF staff (w/DJTFAC planners) and subsets of JTF component staffs

  15. Exercise Goals: Exercise JTF Commander and staff in common crisis action planning procedures while responding to a potential regional contingency. Exercise Objectives: Integrate the DJTFAC into JTF functional staff cells Develop staff understanding of Crisis Action Planning procedures Operational Tasks: OP 2.4.2.2 Provide Current Intelligence for JOA OP 5.1.3 Determine Commander’s Critical Information Requirements (CCIR) Sample Exercise Goals, Objectives, and Operational Tasks
