Motivation for Starting the Group • Marathwada: Poor and backward region in Maharashtra • Massive earthquake- September 30, 1993. • Death toll about 10,000; highest relative death toll 35% in the villages of Killari and Chincholi-Rebe-Osmanabad • 20 villages covering an area about 15 km wide centered 5 kms • Hundreds of orphan children age of few months to 15 years. • The school now supports around 200 orphan and neglected children’s through a residential schooling. • Additionally, up brings socio-economical class, supports elderly persons with no family members with food and shelter etc

Education provided: Basic literacy, Primary education from 1st to 8th Standard Affiliated to education dept. of Maharashtra. 2005 • Other Schools in village = Total 02 • Zila Parishad 1 std to 7 std. • Jaihind Vidyalaya, pvt. with grant • 5 th Std to 10 th. • Fees for Jaihind Vidyalaya: • Rs 100x 9 months= 900 / year • (includes tuition and exam fees) • Other expenses: • Food, clothes and educational expenses: • more than Rs 500/month • Rs 6000/ yr + 900 = 6,900/ per student • Highly impossible for an orphan child

Aims of your group. •      To: • Educate and support with food and shelter to orphans, child labors, and socio economical backward class children • Support old, widowed, and homeless by providing shelter, and food • 4. Educating village farmers to irrigate land though experience and by using natural resources. Does group have any religious or political affiliation? No Many do not remember their parents and religion

  6. Describe the socio-economic background of the children and their parents (e.g. education, occupational). If any of your students are employed, please tell us about that as well. Mostly orphans Adiwasi/tribal Poor labors and farmer class Socio and economical backward Most of the students stay at school in vacations

  7. All students have residential status-as most of them do not have homes/parents. Teachers : 12 All of them stay in the school and have been serving the school since more than 4-5 years with no salary. Admission fee: No fee is taken from students. Parent teacher meeting: No-as most of the students either do not have parents or they work as a labor in farms Women in village contributing with help

  8. Govt does not support such schools financially , however motivates with awards

  9. Does school have: Its own building's): Yes Rooms- 06 Insufficient to the current number of 200 students. Number and type of classrooms (e.g. Pukka): 06 Toilets Yes Playground Small court-yard of a school Toys -No Chairs & Tables Insufficient- Children’s sit on the floor. Blackboard Yes- Library Has 150 books-Common books for students-. Drinking water Yes Electricity Yes Laboratory- No Teaching aids (e.g. books/slates) Insufficient How many staff are employed at your schools? Teachers 12 Minimum Qualifications HSC Other staff 15 - Including cooks, peons etc.

Yes. *Current expense (average including food, education, clothes, haircut etc) Per student per day. Rs 22 / day ( 2 meals + 1 tea (can not afford milk) etc.) 22 x 30 = Rs 660/ month: Av. Rs 7500/ per year 180 x 7500 = Rs 13,50,000/ (OR $ 30,000) *Figures from yr 2005

If these funds are meant for a specific part of your group’s activities, please describe those restrictions. *Loan from the bank- Bank of Maharashtra- Kasabe Tadawale Account Number- 025 Current yr loan: Rs 5,00,000. Loan till date : Rs 12,00,000. *Donations and mandhans yr 2006. = Rs 4,58,000/ Goods donations includes Rice, Wheat, Udid, Tur etc = Rs 2,50,000 *The committee members have raised the funds through donations, savings, sale of land, teachers contributions etc. *Figures from yr 2005 audit

Teachers Salary Teachers =12 ….12 x Rs 600/month= Rs 7200 ($160) = Rs7200 x 11 months = Rs 79200 ($1760) Staff= 15 x Rs 500=Rs 7500 Rs7500x 11= Rs 82500 ($1833.33) A + B = $3593 (11 moths)....for 6 months approx =$ 2,000 Total A,B, and C = $5,917.96 *To figures from yr 2005
