curves • Why is it important for a motorist to adjust steering and speed when approaching a curve in the road? • Because the vehicle tends to keep going straight. 1. Buses- Re-entering the flow of traffic • 3. Postal Vehicle- Re-entering flow of traffic • 4. Mobility-Assistance Device- When in cross walk, or seeking to cross • 5. Other vehicles that are already in intersection.
Yieldingemergency vehicles • YOU must Yield or pull over to the shoulder when the following 3 vehicles have their Sirens or Flashing Lights ON!! • 1. POLICE CARS • 2. FIRE ENGINES • 3. AMBULANCES IMPORTANT!!- Motorist who violate this law will face a fine of 100-500.00$$$$$$$$$

Intersectionuncontrolled • Uncontrolled Intersection- When two or more roads join and there is no traffic or regulatory device. • How to approach a Uncontrolled Intersection- reduce speed, be ready to stop if any traffic is coming from left or right. • Note: You will need to know this for the WRITTEN TEST!!!
Blind spotdefinition • Blind Spot- Are areas or zones on the road that cannot be seen by a driver while looking at rearview or side mirrors. • Trucks-
Blind intersectiondefinition • Blind Intersection- Where buildings, parked vehicles or bushes may obstruct a motorist’s line of sight.
Blind intersectionhow to approach: • How to approach a Blind Intersection: • 1. Always slow down or stop completely • 2. Make sure there is no cross traffic before proceeding.
Traffic circle • There is no set rule for driving into, around and out of a traffic circle. • COMMON SENSE AND CAUTION MUST BE USED AT ALL TIMES. What usually happens….. 1. Cars to the left yield 2. USUALLY KEY WORD, that’s why you need to pay attention the other driver’s decision making!!!!!!

Deceleration Lane- A lane that allows drivers to safely reduce speed (slow down) Note: Know this for the WRITTEN EXAM!!!!
Special highway, parkway and turnpike conditionshighway through cities • How to drive in the cities: Due to traffic flow may increase dramatically or decrease to a crawl. • Drivers should drive in the left or center lane- This will avoid merge conflicts during rush hour. • Search for Exits early and adjust position for exit. Turning regulationsleft turns • Left turn from ONE-Way road on to a ONE-Way road: • Approaching the turn in the left lane: • Motorist should turn into the left lane of the road they are entering.
Turning regulationsleft turns • Left turn from a TWO-Way road onto a TWO-Way road: • Be as close as possible to the center line • When turning, the vehicle should not cross lane markings • After turning, vehicle should be on the right of the center line.
Turning regulationsleft turns • Left Turn from a 2-way road onto a 4-lane highway: • Stay close to center line • Make turn before reaching center of intersection • Do not cross lane markings • TURN INTO LANE CLOSET TO CENTER LINE (Passing Lane) • Proceed out of the passing lane.
