PARISH LED - Spanish pass/TIGER PASS II BUDMAT • Tiger Pass/Spanish Pass Increment #1 result of Parish-led and funded Beneficial Use of Dredged Material (BUDMAT) project. • PPG/Corps Tiger Pass/Spanish Pass II in Engineering & Design • Now the State in Engineering & Design for Spanish Pass Marsh and Ridge (002.RC.02: $100M+) adjacent to current BUDMAT project footprints to compliment PPG/Corps’ efforts Phase II Phase I

PPG/BTNEP: Grand Liard Planting • PPG, BTNEP, and Jefferson Parish planting on recently constructed Grand Liard Ridge project in Plaquemines Parish • Live oak, hackberry, red mulberry, American beautyberry, wax myrtle, persimmon, and yaupon • Native woody species that are beneficial to Neotropical migratory songbirds that utilize the Mississippi Flyway each spring and fall. • Test planting for future full planting effort (3,000+ trees)

Sediment diversion projects • Mid-Barataria Sediment Diversion ($998M) • Planning Engineering & Design • Construction Management At Risk RFQ Submitted January 2019 • Environmental Impact Statement (Draft Due November 2019) • Mid-Breton Sediment Diversion ($479M) • Third Party EIS Contractor RFP, Submitted February 2019 • Planning Engineering & Design (Construction by 2023) • PPG recently indicateed intent to be a participating agency during EIS process • PARISH IS NOW MORE ENGAGED IN THESE PROCESSES TO ENSURE OUR VOICES AND CONCERNS ARE HEARD

  10. CWPPRA involvement • PPG developed and participated in project submittal process for PPL 29 • Supported and voted for Phoenix Marsh Creation – East Increment (R2-BS-10) • Project received highest vote total for Breton Sound Basin • Moving forward for Technical Evaluation

  11. 2023 coastal master plan update • Submittal of restoration, structural and non-structural projects for 2023 State Coastal Master Plan Update • New Project Development Guidelines and Criteria • New Project Screening Criteria • Effects Sub-basin to regional scale (joint projects with Jefferson and St. Bernard Parishes) • 15 Projects Developed and Submitted by PPG ($1.7B) on March 1, 2019 • 10 Restoration Projects: $1,358,403,000 • 5 Structural Protection Projects: $430,363,935

Parish Flood Protection – Mission Statement “To protect the citizens and businesses of Plaquemines Parish from hurricanes, storm damage and riverine flooding by inspecting, operating and maintaining the integrity of our levees, floodwalls, pump stations and floodgates.” Director of Operations: Don Beshel

  14. RECENTLY AWARDED / Ongoing PROJECTs • St. Jude to City Price (NOV-09) levee lift- construction started: $31,260,320 • Happy Jack to Nairn (NOV-10) levee lift- construction awarded: $48,654,098 • Magnolia Pump Station - construction started: $15,000,000

Ongoing PROJECTs - WBV-09a and WBV-12 LEVEE ARMORING • Project Status • WBV 9a (Hero Canal to Oakville): the levee lift project was completed in 2018 and is currently being armored (WBV-ARM-05 contract). Project completion est. April 2019 • WBV 12 (Western Closure Complex to Hero Canal): the levee lift project was completed in 2018 and is currently being armored (WBV-ARM-16 contract). Project completion est. June 2019

  16. Ongoing PROJECTs – east bank reach c culvert repair • Plaquemines Parish leading this effort • Objective is to ensure levee reentry in to the Corps’ Levee Rehabilitation Program • Program allows for federal assistance with emergency and post disaster repairs • System-Wide Improvements Framework (SWIF) Letter of Intent approved by the Corps • LOI details Parish obligation to address 9 defunct culverts • PPG action plan calls for mobilization to inspect and seal 1st culvert • Parish received Letter of No Objection from Corps, allowing PPG to proceed with inspections and sealing

  17. Ongoing PROJECTs - MISSISSIPPI RIVER FLOOD FIGHT 2019 • Continual monitoring and stakeholder communication during historic flood event • Parish inspections, permit enforcement, and activity monitoring during Phase I and Phase II flood fights
