Objectives for the 2011-2012 School Year • There will be four objectives that we will focus on for the entire year. BIG PICTURE
Objectives for 2011-2012 School Year Objective 1: Teachers and teacher leaders will model, implement, and reflect on what research says are best practices for teaching writing.
Objectives for the 2011-2012 School Year Objective 2 Teachers and teacher leaders will model, implement, and reflect on how to integrate writing, reading, discussing, thinking, and creating within the classroom.
Objectives for the the 2011-2012 School Year Objective 3 Teachers and Teacher Leaders will model, implement, and reflect on how to create effective and affirming feedback for students in the writing process.
Objectives for the 2011-2012 School Year Objective 4 Teachers and Teacher Leaders will study how to use Professional Learning Communities to support the above objectives.

How are we going to achieve these objectives? Workshop based model Teachers presenting to teachers Teachers studying with teachers • Each session you will walk away having at least experienced : • a model • a strategy to utilize • research supporting and explaining strategies • a chance to reflect
How are we going to achieve these objectives? • Provide Professional Learning Community time across buildings to reflect, brainstorm and create. This will happen each 3 hour inservice Aug. 10th Oct. 19th Jan. 4th March 9th

Grade Level PLCs 10:10-10:55 • Go to your grade level taught. If you teach more than one please look at the signs outside the auditorium or ask one of your presenters.
