European Union. I am going to show you some changes that happened in our country after our Velvet revolution and after we joined the EU. European Union. This is a short story of my family. These teenagers are my parents. And this teenager is me.

  1. European Union I am going to show you some changes that happened in our country after our Velvet revolution and after we joined the EU.

  2. European Union This is a short story of my family.

  3. These teenagers are my parents.

  4. And this teenager is me. My name is Jiří, which is George in English.

  5. My parents enjoyed going to discos.

  6. So do I.

  7. My father´s studies.

  8. I also study hard.

  9. My father´s sports career.

  10. I´m good at judo.

  11. My parents used to queue for jeans. In the picture there is a special shop called TUZEX where they could get them for special vouchers.

  12. This queue is for bananas. It wasn´t always easy to buy some kinds of food.

  13. Another queue – for bicycles.

  14. Nowadays there are lots of shopping malls in our country.However, as my parents say,you can never feel the happiness that you got something.

  15. I also asked my parents what was better before we joined the EU. Here´s their answer:People used to have better relationships, they used to help each other and they had more free time. Nowadays everybody is busy to earn enough money. And then they spend the money carelessly on fashion, latest electronics or household equipment.

  16. Why are we happy that the Czech Republic is a member of the Europian Union? My country joined the EU on 1 May, 2004.

  17. I love travelling, meeting new people and seeing new places. It´s so easy now. You can travel without being checked because our country is the member of Schengen Area.

  18. Lots of projects in our country are funded by the EU. For example, lots of new buildings are being built. What´s important for young people is the fact that they can study or work abroad.

  19. I´m Europian. That´s why I have decided to take part in our Comenius project. And I can be here, in Barcelona!
