Green Building Standards The Public Context • Washington, DC has passed The Green Building Act 0f 2006 mandating adoption of LEED certification for all new development – public and private. • Louis Dreyfus is working with DCBIA on a public-private task force to recommend standards and implementation measures. • Our region is already well on its way along the green building learning curve. • Danger of moving goalposts: What happens as achieving LEED certification becomes more routine? • The future is now. The train has left the station.
