Initiating a WPFL Program in a Diverse Area Sandy Shih Andrada Community Affairs sandrada@ctdn.org
Commitment • PDSA Cycle #1 • Created CTDN WPFL program • Target of at least 6 complete WPFL programs by end of October • Target diverse companies, organizations or associations • Provide easy-to-follow, comprehensive program for partners • Track results through actual registrations on donor registry
Action • Developed WPFL Program using New Jersey’s program as a guide • Developed all associated materials • Trained Community Affairs team • Selected “low-hanging fruit” partners to work with for first PDSA cycle • Followed through on plan, making adjustments as necessary
Results • Worked with 7 partners, each very different • Financial Companies, Media Companies, Chamber of Commerce, Health Clinic, Day Care, Blood Bank. • Tracked the following information: • # of media points • Amount of information distributed • # of employees/members • # of actual registrations on donor registry • Also tracked staff feedback on what worked, what didn’t through monthly reports • As of 9/21, 2 out of 7 are complete • 660 employees/members reached • 70+ registrations already… and counting! • The rest are in progress or have onsite dates in October
Next Steps • Will review what needs to be changed in the program before rolling out PDSA Cycle #2. • Soliciting 600 volunteers to provide ideas for future partners • Created flyer to attract new partners • Ultimate goal: to make this program so simple that our volunteers can take it on, similar to our high school program.
A Big Thank You!!! To New Jersey for all of their help as we developed our own WPFL program.
