If you get an interview.. • Figure out what are the strengths of the place • Try to figure out what they are looking for • If possible try to make your research fit their strategic interests
What will they ask you? • What work have I done? • Keys questions I am interested on? • Immediate projects I am interested on • Long term goals • My goals during appointment • Job qualifications • What I learned during postdoc • Reasons to work here • Collaborations inside the place
What should you ask them? • What are you looking for in a candidate? • What is the structure of the appointment? • What is the likely package? • What is the prospect beyond the appointment? • How much collaboration is there within the institute? • Facilities? Support? Computing structure? • Start up money? • Nursery? How many women hold tenured posts? Athena Swan in place?

Tenure is a 12 year period and then you are kicked out – not very family friendly as children in schools at that stage!
