  1. 5th grade Gazette Woodstock Elementary Congratulations to our 5th grade Students of the Month: Brown: Sydney Whitner Engram: Matthew Kirby Hughes: Isaiah Novosel Mauldin: Joseph Locher Mann: Delaney Spurlock Holder: Erin Brook Morrie: Taevion Hampton 5th grade Parent Information Night We will be having an information night on March 22nd from 6:00-7:00. We will be discussing the CRCT, SuccessMaker, OAS, and other topics including transitioning to the middle school. Mr. Mark Smith, principal at WMS will be here as well. More info to come. 5th grade Curriculum News Reading: Continue to work on reading skills, Preparing for CRCT with skill sheets, Continue to work on reading contracts Math: SAXON Lessons 97-105; Tests on 3/5, 3/13, “PI” day on 3/14, Ongoing test prep Language Arts: Verb Tenses and Possessive Nouns until  the GCRCT.  The writing test is Wednesday, March 7 Science: Physical and Chemical Changes and Earth Science Social Studies: WWII • . Important Dates to Remember: 3/2: Read Across America Day 3/5: PURE Spirit Night 3/7: Writing Test / Academic Bowl at FMS 3/14: “PI” Day in Math 3/15-16: Furlough Days No School 3/21: Report Cards go home Canyon’s Night 3/22: Spaghetti Dinner 5:30 5th grade Parent Meeting 6:00 4/2-6: Spring Break 4/16-20: CRCT 4/27: Spring Fling • Kudzu Café: • March 22nd 5:30-8:00 p.m. • WES cafeteria • Spaghetti Dinner for Camp Kudzu: All money goes towards this charity • $5 dollars per person • Includes salad, entree, roll, dessert, and drink • Pre sale tickets will be available starting March, 1st March1st, 2012
