Do: you must • Show interest in patient's saying. • Let your face show interested. • Use good manners. • Speak clearly, slowly, pleasant way. • Use normal words. • Respect pt’s moods. • Make your body movement look pleasing and energetic.
Don’t discuss patient’s information • One patient about another one. • Relatives and friends of patients, or other workers. • Visitors to the hospital. • Representatives of news media.
Don’t: you mustn't do • Let the patient think you are too busy to listen. • Refuse to do something you should do. • Use slang “bad words”. • Use loud voice, unclear when speaking with patient. • Use bad, sad gestures or unclear movements. • Leaving patient unexcused during conversations.
