Project Requirements • Build a unique pair of Spice Cellars or Salt and Pepper Shakers. • Cellars Must Include: Body, Lid, and Spoon • Shakers Must Include: Body, Pouring Holes, Fill opening, Sealed Cork and Identifying marks (a way to tell which is Salt and which is Pepper). • Craftsmanship will be graded on aesthetic appeal and proper function.
Sketch Preparation • Research a variety of styles of Shakers and Cellars online or in ceramic magazines. • Come up with at least three unique ideas for your own salt and pepper set. • Sketch your three ideas on a single sheet of paper filling the page with detail. • Turn in your sketch to Mr. Z to discuss the ideas, construction, and decorating techniques to begin building.
