2. Who are HERO Systems • 15 years ago, the HERO Systems Product Range was available in the South African marketplace via an associate company of HERO Systems UK. HERO Systems International viewed this as an opportunity to further expose its product range through an associate company, which purportedly knew and understood the South African market place. • Due to the pitfalls and difficulties of dealing through a remote distributor, HERO Systems International took the decision early in the year 2000, to commit to South Africa and the SA marketplace by opening an office in Stellenbosch, to serve as the Head Office of an envisaged countrywide operation. This has entailed a large financial investment by HERO Systems International to establish a well serviced, professional operation, committed to focusing on a quality range of POS Hardware products and Cashless Systems. • During its formative years in SA, HERO Systems approach has been one of controlled, gradual expansion, based on the increasing sales and market penetration of the HERO Range, via our dealers/partners. • We currently employ six staff at our Head Office branch in Stellenbosch and our Johannesburg office, including dedicated account managers whose sole focus is to ensure superior levels of support and service to our dealer/partner network. HERO Systems SA currently makes use of associate companies such as RITS with its national footprint to effect hardware support ref warranty and normal repair services. We also make use of a centralized and specialised repair service for instances where the RITS footprint is unable to effect a repair due to issues such as complexity. • By using this gradual and planned expansion approach, dictated by our growth, we have established ourselves as a company with a reputation for service and support excellence. Our focused product range, backed by our Japanese and Taiwanese manufacturing partners and shareholders, ensures that we remain at all times at the leading edge of the POS Hardware marketplace. • Having committed manufacturing shareholders/partners also allows HERO Systems rapid and direct access to resolving all issues surrounding hardware support, enhancement, repair, spares supply and associated issues. Limiting the extent of our product range also allows HERO Systems to guarantee product lifecycle issues, often a failing with rapidly developing technology. • HERO Systems SA carries adequate stocks of spares at Head Office in Milnerton at all times to service its current installed base. Where appropriate these spares are also stationed at the Johannesburg offices as well as the RITS Footprint. • HERO Systems SA are fully confident that we represent a range of excellent and appropriate POS products, which add value to our customer offerings, and we are sure that our service and support strategies are geared to ensure the highest levels of customer satisfaction. • HERO Systems presence in South Africa ensures that the dealer/partner network derives the many benefits associated with dealing directly with the manufacturer of the products, which in turn translates into significant reductions in total cost of ownership for the end-user.
