Goals for the Day • Identify ‘entry points’ of children into your systems / communities / programs; • Identify challenges and opportunities for making your screening and assessment work trauma-informed; • Develop small steps that will help you apply trauma-informed care to practice in your own work; and • Deepen ‘learning community’ for child trauma work in Project LAUNCH.
Ground Rules • Listen with respect • Assume good intentions • Be “present “ • Limit distractions • Be open and honest • Listen for opportunities
Welcome to the “Now What?” Café • Meaningful conversation about your personal vision of trauma-informed care • Hear and share multiple perspectives • Brainstorm ideas that might challenge your vision • Brainstorm ideas to help you realize your vision
Café Question 1 Dare to Dream When you envision Trauma-Informed Care in your own community and/or program, what does it look like to you? How would you recognize it? What sorts of things would be different than they are now?
Café Question 2 Challenges and Barriers What do you think are the challenges and barriers you will face in trying to help your community/program embrace and implement this vision? Why doesn’t it look this way now?
Café Question 3 Opportunities! Where are the opportunities for you to begin doing this? What is already in place that you can draw or build on? Who are (or who might be) champions of this vision? What could you do to help get them on board?
