A A is for aristocrats. Aristocrats were rulers of land for a certain district or area. Most farmers didn't like aristocrats, becuase of the land they were taking from the farmers. A
B B B is for bartering. The people of China bartered(traded) things like porcelain, rice,tea, and spices. Most of these things were done on the Silk Road.
C C C is for Creation. The people of China created many things, like bronze vases, canals, even gunpowder! They were known for their great work they they do with bronze. They also made porcelain, which is now known as "Cina"! What a coincedence!
D D D is for Daoism. Daoism was a type of philosophy founded by Laozi, saying to give up worldly desires and respect nature.This was a way of life, and many Chinese people followed it.
E E E is for estuary. An estuary is the meeting point between fresh and salt water. China had an estuary, between the Yellow and Yantze river!
F F F is for filial piety. Filial piety was a way. It was said that young children and adults must always honor and respect their ancestors.
G G is for Great Wall of China. The Great Wall was called "the longest wall of cemetery" because so many people died while building it. The majority of the people who died were farmers.
H H is for Han Dynasty. Liu Bang was the first leader( and the founder)of the Han dynasty. The Han dynasty was from 206 to 220 A.D, and it brought many changes to China's society.
I I is for ideograph. Ideographs were sophisticated systems of symbols to write. The people of China could put many of these ideographs together to make a pictograph.
J J is for Juvenile Discrimination. The Chinese were not fond of having girls. Boys were "better" for work.However, these laws didn't apply to rural areas. People in rural,non- dense populations could have a second child, if the first happened to be a girl.
K K is for Korea. During the civil war, China drifted to Buddhism. This act of Buddhism spread to Korea and Japan. Other people of China did not like bringing Buddhism, because it did not follow China's traditions, which was something very beloved to China.
L L is for Legalism. Legalism, founded by Hanfeizi, was a form of philosophy. It stated that cruel punishments could be used to people to do right. volved strict laws and punishments-like beheading.
M M is for merchants. The Merchant class included money lenders,traders, and animal breeders. The merchants were more important in China than they were in India, becasue money was not very popular in India, with everyone being Buddhists.
N N is for nobles Nobles in Ancient China were rulers, or kings. They were usually the highest class in the system. They were royalty.
O O is for ongiong. Dynasties in Ancient China were very recurring. They just kept coming, and coming, and coming...
P P P is for population. China's population has grown VERY large. This was because the government was saying more people was better. China today makes up 1/5 of the world!
Q Q Q is for Qin Dynasty. Qin was the first man to ever rule all of China at one time.He made changes in China's government that would last for over 2000 years!
R R R is for rivers. China had a main river, called the Huang He (Yellow) river, or the "Cradle of Chinese civilization".
S S is for Silk Road. The Silk Road was a pathway used for trading things like porcelain, silk, spices, and rice.
T T T is for tradition. In China, tradition was very important. Some didn't even like it when Buddhism came around!Neo-Confucianism was even created, encouraging people to stay true to their tradition and forget about Buddhism.
U U U is for undervalued. Farmers in Ancient China were always put under everyone else.The farmers were even forced to build the Great Wall of China. This was a hard task, and some even ended up dying!
V V V is for vicious. Legalism in China was vicious, and it even involoved beheading and killing!This was a type of philosophy, saying that people need cruel laws to get them to do what needs to be done.
W W W is for writing. Forms of writing in Ancient China included oracle bones, which had words carved into them. These words asked questions from kings. The kings asked about things like weather and good fortune.
X X X is for Xia dynasty. The Xia dynasty (the first dynasty)probably contained some of the first official rulers of Ancient China.Not much is known about this dynasty, but the Shang came after the Xia, so they probably had gotten defeated in battle.
Y Y is for Yellow River. The Yellow River, also known as Huang He River, is an important river to he Chinese society. It's also the world'a 6th longest river, at 3,395 miles. Y
Z Z Z is for Zhou Dynasty. The Zhou dynasty, along with the Chang, was known for its amazing art made from bronze.After Wu Wang led his suceeding rebellion against the Shang dynasty, they were defeated, and te Zhou (sounds like Joe) dynasty was born.
