  6. What can we do to stay safe during a thunderstorm? • Stay out of water • Do not touch anything made of metal • Stay away from windows • Go into a building or a car

  7. Tornadoes • A spinning cone of air that reaches the bottom of a storm cloud to the ground • Winds come together from different directions and if they are strong enough it will cause the spinning

  9. What can we do to stay safe during a tornado? • Have a plan of what to do and where to go • Go to the basement or lowest floor • Get under sturdy furniture • Stay indoors until it is safe to come out

  10. Hurricanes • Very powerful and big storms that form over oceans • heavy winds, heavy rain, and floods • Wind can blow up to 200 mph and be up to 600 miles long!
