GTN-H Development since July 2005 Overall Objectives GTN-H Aims at a global hydrological network of networks Runs projects that establish and facilitate access to hydrological networks, data and products Forms a building block for integrated global products for climate and water (WMO, GCOS, IGOS-OGWCO, GEO)
GTN-H Development since July 2005 • Progress in some projects including metadata standard, gridded global runoff, • Progress in development of network partners in particular with regard to the global database on lakes and reservoirs, promiding progress in defining a database host for soil moisture • Progress in the development of a near rea-time global hydrological applicatons and runoff project (HARON) • Prototype system an of on-line hydrological information system • Access to the « First Guess » global gridded precipitation of GPCC and a 50 year climatology
GTN-H Development since July 2005 • First-time on-line access to the global water quality data base of GEMS-Water • Start-up of a « pristine basin » network in cooperaiton with WMO/CHy and WCP-Water (cross-cutting) • Recognition of GTN-H in various programmes including WMO and GCOS as « parents », IGOS-IGWCO, GEO, GEWEX, and climate relevant programmes and intergovernmental bodies • Establishment of a dedicated web page and online data inventory • Negative development: No regular coordination of GTN-H since December 2005
