  4. CREDIT CHECKS • More than 12 Credits Remaining? • AIMS—If approaching or falls far below, or no scores…you will be on list to take again in October • Must sign up to exceed. (2 more tries) • Sign up with Ms. Hudson in the 11/12 Office before October 1st

  6. AIMS • Must meet Standards in all three areas to graduate • Cannot retake if already exceeded • To retake test to exceed, students must sign up in the 11/12 Office with Ms. Hudson before October 1st • Practice tests at www.ade.gov

CAC: Early College & 1st Step • Early College: • Current 11th and 12th graders • Must be enrolled in at least 4 credit hours at HS • Must be “college ready” (maturity) • Can enroll at CAC Early College and take high school courses for FREE during school year • 1st Step: • Current 10th, 11th, & 12th graders • May take up to 7 credit hours FREE the summer following each of these school years • Ms. Ninneman, Junior/Senior Counselor in 11/12 Office has applications

CAC Scholarships: • Promise for the Future Scholarship: 2 full years of free tuition! • Signed up in 8th grade • Pinal County resident • Graduate from Pinal County high school • Cumulative GPA at graduation of 2.75 or better • Top 30% Scholarship: 2 full years of free tuition! • Students who graduate with a GPA in the top 30% of their class

THE COLLEGE APPLICATION PROCESS • Visit college campuses • Come to college visits in the Counseling Office • Consult a college guide—most online • Take SAT or ACT starting second semester - make sure you have prepared • Appointment with counselor/career center • Juniors and Seniors- Mrs. Ninneman • Start narrowing choices to start applications in August of next year • Start preparing for college essay
