What is the HHSBPC? • An organization made up entirely of HHS parent volunteers that work to support HHS baseball. • Provides funding to support HHS baseball in addition to what’s provided by FCPS and HHS Sports Boosters. • A non-profit 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization. All donations to HHSBPC are tax-deductible. • Every dollar raised is invested in HHS baseball. • Separate entity from the HHS Baseball program. • Separate fundraising than the HHS Baseball program. HHSBPC
Who is the HHSBPC? • Everyone is welcome to participate! • 2010 – 2011 Board Members and Volunteers • President (Craig Garten) • President-elect (Dan Dugan) • Secretary (Beth Hitchings) • Treasurer (Debbie Hill) • Treasurer-elect (Elizabeth Williams) • Sponsorship Fundraiser (Debbie Reif) • Field Project Coordinator (Roger Hill) • Yearbook Editor (Margie Smith) • Spring Break Trip (Kim Garten) • Communications (Steve Fehr) • Photography (Janet McNichol) • We currently have open Committee positions and also need volunteers to manage various tasks / projects throughout the year. Why does the HHSBPC exist? • HHSBPC has existed for over 10 years. • Support HHS baseball program by working to fundraise for much-needed field and facility improvements such as: • Batting Turtle in 2010 • Windscreens in outfield and fence capping 2010 • Scoreboard Name Panel 2010 • Centerfield Scoreboard installed in 2009 • We also work to improve the overall baseball and game day experience for our boys by organizing efforts such as: • Uniforms, Press Box Supplies, Field Work Tools, Yearbook Keepsake, Senior Night, Sponsor Night, Youth Baseball Night, Field Cleanup Day, Varsity and JV game-day operations, Alumni Game HHSBPC

Coach Miller – Fundraising Expectations • All HHS baseball families are expected to participate in fund-raising • Counting on the generosity of our community and all of you as parents and supporters of the HHS baseball program • JV Families – raise $500 minimum per player • Varsity Families – raise $1,000 minimum per player • All families can choose to self-fund a portion or all of the minimum • Encourage obtaining sponsors / advertisers as this source tends to be sustainable • Questions for Coach Miller HHSBPC
Goals for 2010 - 2011 • Meet or exceed last year’s outstanding support! • Two significant field improvements targeted for this year: • Red Monster – 20’x200’ foot fence installed in left field! • Covered Batting Cages with turf and lighting! • Subsidize 2011 Myrtle Beach Varsity Spring Break Trip • Subsidize Coaches’ Training Clinic • Subsidize on-going team expenses • One primary fundraising method this year: • Sponsorships and advertisements in HHS Baseball yearbook • A second fundraiser in early-February 2011: • Dinner and small-scale silent auction • We need several volunteers to pull this event together! HHSBPC
The Red Monster • Prime Sponsorship Space • Legitimate High School Field / Pitcher Friendly • Landmark at HHS • Raise standards for other High School fields • Goal to make McCullock Field the premier field in Northern Virginia HHSBPC
Covered Batting Cages • Current facility is antiquated and in desperate need of renovation • New Covered 32’ x 80’ Batting Cages • New Turf and Cage Nets • Lighting and fans for extended use • Prime Sponsorship Space • Facility that can be used during inclement weather • Premier facility that could be used by area teams/kids HHSBPC

Timeline for 2010 - 2011 Season • 10/26/2010 – HHSBPC Fall Meeting • 10/30/2010 – Fall Field Clean-up Day 8:00am • 11/29/2010 – Winter Camps Begins • 1/31/2011 – Sponsorship & Advertiser Information Due • Early Feb 2011 – Dinner and Small-Scale Silent Auction • 2/22/2011 – Tryouts Begin • TBD – Spring Field Clean Up Day • 3/5/2011 – First Scrimmage • 3/18/2011 – First Game in Northern Region • TBD – HHSBPC Spring Meeting • 4/15 – 22/2011 – Varsity Spring Break Trip • 5/17/2011 – Concorde District Tournament begins • 5/27/2011 – Northern Region Tournament begins HHSBPC
