  8. Dress Code • No sleeveless shirts • No bedroom attire • No see-through and/or transparent tops or bottoms • NO SAGGING PANTS ALLOWED. Pants are to be worn at waistline • Failure to comply with the dress code will result in students being sent home to change and penalties.

  9. Dress Code Policy Offenses • 1st Offense: Warning • 2nd Offense: Students will be required to attend Saturday Academy • 3rd Offense: Students will receive one (1) day OSS • Additional Offenses: Principal’s discretion based upon his investigation

  10. Cell Phone Policy Cell phones and other electronic devices (MP3 players, iPods, etc.) that are visible or heard will be confiscated. Students who refuse to give up their phones/electronic devices will receive OSS. Purnell Swett High School does not assume any liability for the loss or theft of any cell phone or electronic device. In the event of theft, students should file a report with the School Resource Officer.

Cell Phone Policy Offenses 1st Offense- Teacher confiscates phone/electronic device turns it into office and student may pick up phone at the end of the day. 2nd Offense- Teacher confiscates phone/electronic device and parent will have to pick up (NO EXEMPTION) 3rd Offense- One (1) day OSS 4th Offense- Three (3) day OSS for each offense

  23. Lowry named Scholar-Athlete of the Month

  24. Senior Mikala Lowry has continued to be a self-driven leader that is involved all around the school. She’s been a key contributor to the Rams’ softball, basketball and volleyball teams and is ranked second in her class with a 4.6 weighted grade point average.

  25. Her significant contributions to each of her teams and her dedication to academics were among the reasons she was chosen as February’s MountaireFarms Scholar Athlete of the Month. In volleyball she was part of a three-pronged hitting attack that was among the best in the Southeastern Conference. She was also the basketball team’s lone All-Conference selection.

  29. Sandhills Community College Students interested in attending Sandhills Community College you may apply for their scholarship online at www.sandhill.edu/scholarships

  30. Mid-Atlantic Christian University Mid-Atlantic Christian University is offering a full-tuition scholarship. Information may be found online.

  31. North Carolina Association of Educational Office Professionals, Inc. NCAEOP will award one scholarship valued at $1,200 at each high school. Interested students please see Ms. Kathy in guidance for application. Deadline: March 12, 2014

  35. Prom!!! Ticket sales will be held during all 4 lunches Tuesday March 11 thru Friday March 14. Students will need to see Mr. Josh Locklear to purchase a ticket after 14th. Ticket prices will be $35 for one person and $60 for a couple.

  36. Prom!!! All school rules will be strictly enforced during prom. NO REFUNDS!!!!!!! Students who are suspended on or after March 12 will not be allowed to participate in prom activities. No one will be allowed to enter the building once they have left.

  37. Appropriate Young Men: Tuxedo or Suit; Dress Pants, dress shirt, and dress shoes Young Women: Gowns, fancy short dresses, and other formal wear required.

  38. Inappropriate Backless(Material must be above the belly button line) Slits(No higher than finger tip length) Dresses(No shorter than finger tip length) Exposed Mid-drift/See-Through(Must cover belly button)

  39. The Indian Education VISION volunteer program is accepting applications for Native American students, grades 9-12 who are interested in volunteering in Indian communities. Please a see a YDS for more information
