Status Update: HS Feedback Reporting Project February 16, 2012 1
A Review… Project Goals • The High School Feedback Reporting initiative aims to • Enhance the ability of schools, districts, and PDE to report on the progress of high school students into and through postsecondary education. • Provide educators with aggregate actionable and timely data to raise student achievement by informing and improving their instructional practice and curriculum. • The ultimate goal of the project is to increase college readiness and improve student postsecondary performance.
Activity Levels to Date… Number of LEAs with Completed Agreements: 261
Activity Levels to Date… • Within the 261 LEAs that have completed agreements, 1117 individuals have been granted access. • In particular, the following roles are most represented: • Superintendents / Assistant Superintendents • Principals / Assistant Principals • Guidance Counselors • Curriculum Directors • Special Education Directors
Participation is Still Open! • HS Feedback Agreements are being processed on a rolling basis. • For the agreements… • The Superintendent must complete and sign the overall agreement. • Each person that is to be granted access must completed and sign an Access Agreement (last page). • LEAs can add more individuals to their original list by having the additional individuals complete an Access Agreement. • Information (Including the Agreement) can be found on our podcast at http://video.paiunet.org. Look for “PDE Podcasts.”
Next Steps • Work is being completed by PAIUCC and PDE to develop key questions that will help LEAs further integrate HS Feedback with the Comprehensive Planning Process. • We are looking ahead to next school year and are asking IUs to work with their LEAs to obtain “Feedback on HS Feedback”. • We may not be able to implement every LEA suggestion due to data or policy limitations. • However, understanding trends as to what LEAs recommend will allow PDE to begin planning for the next iteration of reporting and exploring possibilities for expansion.
